The causes of memory loss are numerous. They can be serious and long-lasting or mild and temporary. A complete evaluation to determine the main cause is critical so serious problems can be ruled out or treated early. Patients with memory problems need a centralized place to turn to that can give them comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services. A place where patients can get answers to perplexing questions, provide guidance, treatment options and, most importantly, hope. You can talk to your primary care physician about a referral or call the Memory Disorders Program at the Lancaster General Neuro Center.

Mennonite Home offers three areas of dementia/Alzheimer’s care. Specialty units provide a safe
environment for those persons with Alzheimer’s disease or other cognitive or functional impairments. Each unit is secured, allowing the resident freedom to walk and/or visit within a specific area. A unique program provides structured activities, socialization and a supportive and trained staff. When the resident no longer benefits from these special surroundings, they are transferred to a less restrictive unit.
